After your complimentary hotel pick up, you will be brought to Broome Aviation’s very own departure lounge located at the Broome International Airport. Here you will be greeted by your pilot for the day and enjoy your pre-flight breakfast and tea or coffee in air-conditioned comfort. Your pilot will outline the days adventure and give a brief safety demonstration before commencing your flight.
Departing Broome you head over the township which flies over Chinatown, Roebuck Bay and surrounds. The flight takes you over Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Farm and the old Broome Road before heading towards the open landscape of the Kimberley.
Heading towards the east Kimberley region, you will fly past the millions of hectares of station land which are enriched with Aboriginal Heritage. Your pilot will share stories and history about the area before reaching the township of Fitzroy Crossing and onto to Halls Creek. Halls Creek is a busy service town for surrounding pastoralists, Aboriginal community members and travellers exploring the North of WA. Here you will have a short break and chance to stretch your legs before continuing on the days adventure.
Taking to the skies again to explore the rich culture of the lands below before touching down at the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park containing the Bungle Bungle Ranges. They are one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders. Here you will be greeted by the highly experienced tour guides and transferred onto the Bungle Bungles Guided Tour via the air conditioned 4WD's. Marvel at Piccaninny Gorge and weave a 3km path through the sandstone ‘bee-hive’ domes by foot.
Sit back and relax whilst enjoying a picnic lunch in the magnificent amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge before you are returned to Purnululu National Park airstrip. You will also view the famous Horseshoe Valley and the Coalition Range from a unique aerial perspective.
On the return flight view the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges, formerly known as the King Leopold Ranges which extend for 300 kilometres. The ranges consist of long, rugged, spinifex-covered ridges and escarpments. Mount Ord at 947 metres above sea level and Mount Broome at 935 metres are the highest peaks in the range.
Upon landing back in Broome, your tour concludes with the complimentary hotel drop off and your very own tour souvenir.
*The Cathedral Gorge walking track is appropriate for people with a low to moderate level of fitness. Walking shoes are required due to the sand and uneven terrain.
